At Castelo de Neiva a few kilometers from Viana do Castelo is the Casa de Monteverde a beautiful sixteenth-century manor whose house and Thursday were part of the scion of the House of the Lady of the Snows Torres Sendim. Since mid-sixteenth century in possession of the family Cunha Lobo Barbosa Sottomaior passed in 1820 to be known as Quinta do Monteverde after entering the Genovese Family Judge Luigi Vital Monteverdi. This Italian nobleman came in 1790 to attend the marriage of D. John VI. Passionate lady of the house Teresa de Jesus da Cunha Lobo Barbosa Sottomaior stayed eventually marrying and then won the fifth current name very soon. The house was completely restored between 1998 and 2000 keeping the interior both in the beauty of its decoration and in finish style and splendor worthy of the past. The guest house is done in the main house with two bedrooms and one suite in the towers on the ground floor and three former homes of workers who were turned into apartments with bedroom and living room itself. A great room with fireplace is for common use. The furnishings paintings family portraits of the eighteenth century were kept in the main house and the decoration of the house more modern but beautiful. The library and games room are in turn an interesting collection of antique weapons. Also the gardens were arranged and redesigned which makes the moments in the pool or during games of tennis a supplement and aesthetic pleasure.
