About Oman Air
Oman Air is the national airline of Oman (IATA code WY) and is owned by the Government. They have two operating hubs, their main hub is at Muscat International Airport (IATA code: MCT) in Oman, this is also the location for their Head Office. Their second hub is about 5km from the city of Salalah - Salalah International Airport (IATA code SLL). Oman Air only serves Muscat, Dubai and Jeddah from Salalah. The airline was originally founded in 1993 as a regional airline after Oman decided to have their own national carrier apart from Gulf Air which it once was financially involved with. Like most airlines in the Middle East region Oman Air have experienced dramatic growth and as of 2018 fly from Muscat to Abu Dhabi, Amman, Bahrain, Cairo, Dar Es Salaam, Dammam, Doha, Dubai, Jeddah, Kuwait, Madina, Mashhad, Nairobi, Najaf, Riyadh, Tehran and Zanzibar. In addition to this they fly to eleven destinations in India (Goa, Mumbai, Chennai, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Hyderabad, Delhi, Lucknow, Bangalore, Kozhikode and Jaipur); three in Pakistan (Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore), Nepal and Sri Lanka (Kathmandu and Colombo). Making Oman Air a very strong airline of choice for the Middle East and Indian subcontinent. Continuing on the path of growth they have opened many more routes to Asia with flights from Muscat to Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Jakarta and Guangzhou. Currently they have seven destinations in Europe from Muscat - London, Manchester, Milan, Munich, Frankfurt, Paris and Zurich. The second half of 2018 will see new services begin to Istanbul in Turkey, Casablanca in Morocco and Moscow in Russia.
Whilst Oman Air does not belong to one of the major alliances of the world they have an extensive portfolio of codeshare partners that expands their network either further. The list is growing all the time however here as of August 2018 is the list of Oman Air code share partners and the destinations that they operate.
