<p dir="ltr">Islandia, misalnya, menawarkan pemandangan alam yang dramatis mulai dari gunung api hingga air terjun. Turki juga sedang naik daun. Sejak menjadi lokasi syuting film James Bond “Sky Fall”, Turki banyak dikunjungi wisatawan, dan kini berada di peringkat ke-6 dunia untuk kategori negara-negara yang paling banyak dikunjungi wisatawan.</p>

					<p dir="ltr">DUBAI, 6 Mei 2013 &#8211;  Masyarakat Arab Saudi dan ekspatriat yang tinggal di wilayah itu kini mendominasi volume pencarian informasi tiket pesawat dan akomodasi melalui situs Wego, dibandingkan dengan negara-negara lain di Timur Tengah. Pencarian informasi perjalanan ke Jakarta, meningkat dua kali lipat dalam tiga tahun terakhir.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Berdasarkan data internal Wego, sebanyak 7 dari 10 transaksi secara online yang dilakukan warga Arab Saudi, rata-rata membukukan minimal USD 1600 untuk booking tiket pesawat. Adapun untuk akomodasi, rata-rata transaksi minimal USD900 per booking.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Menurut Mohamad Ibrahim Masri, Managing Director Wego di Timur Tengah dan Afrika Utara, adanya skala kebutuhan pasar Arab Saudi dan daya beli yang tinggi menyebabkan momentum besar untuk perubahan industri perjalanan di Timur Tengah, dari offline menuju online.  “Kini, traveler Arab Saudi merupakan pengguna terbesar dari seluruh region di 6 negara teluk,” tegas Masri.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Pertumbuhan itu, kata Masri disebabkan berbagai hal. Pertama ialah respons positif dari agen perjalanan, maskapai penerbangan dan akomodasi  yang mau membuka diri di dunia online. Mereka bersedia melayani kebutuhan pasar melalui Wego sehingga mudah dicari melalui internet.  “Karena itu sekarang traveler dari Arab Saudi bisa mempertimbangkan 2000 opsi destinasi melalui Wego pada liburan musim panas kali ini,” tambah Masri.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Yang kedua ialah investasi Wego membuat situs lokal. April 2012, Wego meluncurkan situs <a href="http://www.wego.ae">wego.ae </a>yang merupakan mesin pencari informasi tiket pesawat dan akomodasi berbahasa Arab dan Inggris pertama di dunia. Aksi ini dilanjutkan dengan meluncurkan situs <a href="http://www.sa.wego.com">sa.wego.com</a> yang juga sangat lokal. Menggunakan aksara lokal, bahkan mengetik kata pun dari kanan ke kiri seperti layaknya orang Arab membaca teks.</p>
<p>Faktor penting lainnya ialah karakter masyarakat Arab Saudi. Menurut Masri, pertumbuhan luar biasa ini disebabkan faktor ‘dari mulut ke mulut” yang dilakukan secara global. “Kami bicara dengan pengguna Wego disini. Mereka bilang, ada kebanggaan tersendiri jika mereka mampu membuat keputusan cepat dan cerdas dengan memanfaatkan teknologi terbaru. Kami senang mereka mengadopsi Wego dalam hal ini sekaligus berbagi mengenai visi travelling di masa depan. Bagaimanapun, mereka ini merupakan pemimpin opini di komunitas mereka sendiri,” tambah Masri.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Tren perjalanan</p>
<p dir="ltr">Saat ini, Wego membandingkan lebih dari 600 penerbangan full service dan budget, serta lebih dari 800 ribu akomodasi, termasuk  didalamnya ialah akomodasi non hotel yang dapat dilihat pada Holiday Rentals.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Berdasarkan data internal Wego, pencarian harga tiket pesawat dan jadwal terbang maskapai pada rute penerbangan lokal termasuk tinggi. Misalnya, penerbangan dari  Abha dan Yanbu ke Jazan. Tapi, tambah Masri, pencarian tinggi itu tidak cuma terlihat di bandara penghubung(hub) saja. Melainkan juga tercermin pada perjalanan bisnis di titik-titik penting industri minyak. “Pencarian informasi tiket pesawat menuju Dharan meningkat empat kali lipat,” sebut Masri.  Dharan merupakan pusat administrasi industri minyak Arab Saudi.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Tren perjalanan ke luar negeri juga berkontribusi pada pertumbuhan pengguna Wego di Arab Saudi. Jakarta, misalnya, termasuk diminati warga Arab Saudi. Total pencarian tiket penerbangan ke Jakarta sebagai gerbang utama masuk Indonesia, menyumbang 8% dari volume pencarian tiket pada bulan Agustus. Ini naik dua kali lipat dalam 3 tahun terakhir.  Istanbul dan Kuala Lumpur juga makin populer di kalangan traveler Arab Saudi. Begitu juga dengan Kairo dan London.</p>

<p>Revealed today at the 2013 Arabian Travel Market where Wego is exhibiting, a study of user data trails across all 50 of Wego’s country sites showed significant and universal interest in the UAE originating from over 190 countries.</p>
<p>Reflecting wider trends in economics and supply, the increase is dominated by newer regional online audiences, especially those the Asia Pacific, with the proportion from Europe showing itself as either static or declining within the expanded pool.</p>
<p>Demand from Asia has increased particularly for flights; South Asia accounting for a quarter of the total with growth recorded also across Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore, matching the numbers from Jordan or Egypt for online flight bookings. Most noticeably searches from Wego China have lifted to the same level of some of the UAE’s neighbours.</p>
<blockquote><p>“Travel suppliers and intermediaries from the Gulf states should now be building their brands to cater to new online audiences in these markets, especially the burgeoning middle classes demonstrating greater purchasing power and intent,”</p></blockquote>

					<p><strong>DUBAI, May 6th 2013 -</strong> With travellers from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia now comprising the largest user base of all six Gulf states for travel metasearch leader Wego, the role of online travel in the vanguard of B2C e-commerce looks set.  The scale of demand from within the KSA and the purchasing power of Saudis add huge momentum to the travel industry’s shift from offline channels to online within the Middle East.</p>
<p>Saudi Arabians and foreign residents living in the Kingdom are embracing the travel comparison site faster than even the rapid adoption of other communities in the region, with the volume currently tripling every two months.</p>
<p>Demand for a wider choice and control over travel plans has clearly favoured the metasearch model that compares the market, enabling users to make informed choices and book direct.  The response of travel agents, airlines and hotels keen to serve the KSA community by making more inventory available through Wego has also helped satisfy the increased searches online.</p>
<p>The range of destinations Saudi travellers and searching for <a href="http://sa.wego.com/flights">flights</a> and <a href="http://sa.wego.com/hotels">accommodation</a> is also becoming more diverse.</p>
<blockquote><p>“Travellers from the KSA are now considering options at over 2,000 destinations for trips this summer representing a huge opportunity for the industry.  Almost seven in ten transactions online are for air ticket purchases averaging over US$1,600, the highest in the region,”</p></blockquote>
<p>explained Mohamad Ibrahim Masri, Managing Director for Wego in the Middle East and North Africa.</p>
<blockquote><p>“Accommodation is also averaging almost US$900 per booking.”</p></blockquote>
<p>Wego compares over 600 full service and low cost carriers and more than 800,000 accommodation options, including holiday rentals, to produce its comprehensive search results.</p>
<blockquote><p>“Schedules and fares are being compared across the Kingdom’s domestic aviation network, from Abha and Yanbu to Jazan. It is not just the hubs that are seeing the traffic,”</p></blockquote>
<p>Masri added. Business travel associated with the oil industry has also scaled dramatically for Wego, with searches for Dharan quadrupling this season.</p>
<p>Trending destinations overseas are feeding into the growth.  Jakarta, gateway to the Indonesian archipelago now accounts for a substantial eight percent of KSA based search volumes to August, more than doubling in three years. <a href="http://www.wego.ae/flights-to/ist/cheap-flights-to-istanbul">Istanbul</a> and <a href="http://www.wego.ae/flights-to/kul/cheap-flights-to-kuala-lumpur">Kuala Lumpur</a> are also gaining popularity. Cairo has bounced to match London, with Bodrum coming up alongside regionally Hammamet and Rabat though the searches stretch “right into the longtail.”</p>

<p>For the month of April, Wego&#8217;s global Facebook pages will encourage fans to leave their footprint by uploading images of their bare feet in any location to help in TOMS&#8217; mission to raise awareness of health and education for children across the world.</p>
<p>On April 16, Wego staff in both Jakarta and at the global headquarters in Singapore, will join TOMS&#8217; &#8216;<a href="http://www.onedaywithoutshoes.com/" target="_blank">One Day Without Shoes</a>&#8216; worldwide campaign, and spend the day barefoot.</p>
<p>“We&#8217;ve long been admirers of TOMS One for One™ program where every shoe purchase equates to a new pair of shoes for a child in need,” said Wego CEO Ross Veitch.</p>
<p>“Wego is a global travel company and we&#8217;re keenly aware that many places of beauty we visit and enjoy are also home to many who don&#8217;t receive the same opportunities as we do. We&#8217;re thrilled that we can participate with TOMS to show our genuine support to raise the awareness of health and education for all children, no matter what their location,” added Veitch.</p>
