I've stayed in quite a few top hotels and I know that everything is expensive, but the Metropole serves wine by the glass in ridiculous swimming pool sized glasses, and then you get about an inch and a half (perhaps 5cm) in the glass, for a princely USD 9.00

The staff is so nice, helpful and efficient, the food is great, the location excellent, the swimming pool is such a good place to be during the warmest hours.
