For example, although the hotel is within walking distance to two BART Stations (which was one of its selling points), we needed to hire a taxi just to avoid walking through bad neighborhoods.

$25/day valet parking; didn't use shuttle, but will next visit as neighborhood is seedy.

The hotel is located in a very shady area, so walking about in the general vicinity is not recommended, especially at night.

The surrounding area is typical of big city downtown locations- homeless/ transients, but never had a problem.
