I would rather sleep in this hotel than on a train or an airplane, but would rather sleep in a bunk bed in a decent hostel than in this ""hotel.

For the money, I would recommend Hostelling New York which is in around the same price and the largest hostel in the city.

Plus, it's located in Chinatown, very close to Little Italy, and the surrounding area is safe.
