The only detriments are the extra (expensive) charges for things like wifi and computer terminal use in the business center.

All in all, the hotel and location were great and we will definitely stay here again -- in fact, I am planning an "all girls" (with sisters and nieces) trip for next summer and will definitely look into staying here again.

Traditional European style, modern facilities and convenient midtown location. A hotel since the 1920s, the Shelburne was redone in 1999. A gracious lobby with Oriental carpets, teardrop chandeliers and a fireplace sets the scene for a hotel with old-world ambience and a friendly staff. The hotel attracts guests from the worlds or fashion, banking and finance; visitors to the U.N.; and leisure travelers. Valet parking and the services of a concierge are among the amenities. The Penthouse roof garden of the Shelburne is a dramatic setting for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres in summer, with the bright lights of the Chrysler Building and other city skyscrapers twinkling all around. It can be reserved as a very special site for receptions or banquets. Midtown Manhattan, Eastside Historic Murray Hill Section
