The location is good for 5th Ave shopping if you like to walk.

Best highlights apart from shopping were: Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Top of the Rock at night, watching the Little Mermaid on Broadway and ice skating in Central Park.

Just a couple blocks from Grand Central Station & right across the street from a 24-hr convenience store (that's where I went to buy a cheap coffee maker).

The location is still a little far away from 5th ave shopping and Times Square.

We got the subway to Battery park and then took the ferry to Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island (well worth it, but be prepared to Q) And there’s a great market on Union Square on a Satuday which is well worth going to, we walked back to the hotel, and we also walked to central park…… A wonderful city and an excellent hotel to use as a base
