Guest Reviews of Affinia Dumont Hotel New York Based on a 1 (poor) to 5 (excellent) rating system

My partner and I travelled to New York in April this year and we decided to stay at the Affinia Dumont because we got a good deal on price, it worked out much cheaper than some 2* hotels (although I am sure this was the site we used rather than the average price of the hotel).

The hotel was easy to spot, in a much quieter area than some other hotels we walked past (its on the same street at the Empire State Building) but not to far out that you felt like you were missing out on anything.

The hotel was situated close to Grand Central Station, the Chrysler Building and, as I said, is on the same street as the Empire State Building.

The trip down to the villages (Greenwich, SoHo, NoLiIta etc) is worth it to see "bohemien" NYC.

We went to Central Park for a walk and explore, we wanted to visit the zoo but there was a massive heatwave when we were there, seriously 35 deg, and the parks and zoo were packed with New Yorker families spending time with their kids and sunning themselves away from the office.

The rooms (including the bathroom) were spacious, clean and airy.

We were upgraded to a small suite with an absolutely fantastic view of the Chrysler building.
