This meant the room was very cool when returning to the room (perhaps good for some people) but I prefer my rooms to be at room temperature.

A stylish white Lexus pulled up as soon as we stepped outside the hotel entrance, and the very nice and discreet driver took us to where we wanted, and had obviously just waited for us during the whole two hours we were there , to promptly reappear at the meeting point we had arranged, to help us with our shamefully overloaded shopping bags.

I admit that that the bar areas at the rear are a little bit scruffy but the new lounge bar off reception is elegant and stylish, we went there each night and it has a great atmosphere with friendly and efficient staff.

It's a great time to go because it only gets up to about 30 degrees, however ladies should take a pash or a jacket cos it gets a little cool in the evening.

On arrival, following an overnight flight from the UK, we were greeted by porters who immediately took our cases and led us to reception where we were presented with cool face cloths and a drink to refresh us.

Just spent 5 nights there in a club room - great interior to the hotel, funky and contemporary compared to a lot of the hotels in Dubai which tend to be a bit gaudy in the way they are decorated.
