During the day, staff handed out cool hand towels, complimentary small slushes and water spray to all guests sitting near the pools and on the beach which was very welcome in the Dubai heat!

They seem to think of everything, including the complementary ice cool towels and iced juices to cool you around the pool.

I would strongly recomment Bar 44 which is very chic and you can see the palm jumeriah, and definately the Buddah Bar at Grosvenor House.

Grosvenor Club Lounge is adjacent to the trendy Bar 44 and has tremendous views of the Palm.

Other places worth visiting are: The Madinat - shops, bars (Bahri Bar - great views of the Burj, Jam base - live music and looked like good food), restaurants (The Noodle Bar - delicious and very reasonable, Zheng Hes - best Chinese we’ve ever had - and that is saying something), Gondola type boats - a really cool place.

This hotel is extremely stylish and has to be seen but there are no grounds around it at all so be aware when choosing between the 2 hotels Conclusion The Royal Meridien is a great hotel and for our first visit to Dubai it made our holiday very special.
