    Down the street from the hotel (go to the beach and go left) there is a conveniance store and down that street to the left and across the street is a small family run restaurant that is decent and very reasonable - they also do laundry/iron service and its dependable.

    Bottomline - this was our most relaxing and enjoyable resort vacation for two reasons: 1) the resort amenities were plentiful, of good quality and very reasonably priced (Kids Paradise camp for ages 5 and up offers free child care from 9am to 5pm that was fun for the kids; babysitting at night only 150baht per hour; tennis courts use free during the day and racquet and ball rental were free; fantastic game room; inexpensive bike rental for on property use; excellent fitness center; free internet access in executive lounge; superb breakfast buffet; lovely Happy Hour perfect for sunset viewing on the 12th floor Exec lounge (lovely hors d'ouevres) 2) our kids ages 7 and 9 are finally of the age to enjoy these activities Yes, the resort is huge and doesn't have too much in the way of Thai architecture, but our room (790 in Lotus bldg) was beautifully decorated in sophisticated Thai style and the size of the beautiful grounds make it something of a green oasis.
