Instead, expect to chill out in a sweet little hotel, there is a clean pool, easy access to the beach, nice staff, reasonable breakfast (nothing special but again, adequate) and good location.

The buffet is adequate if not redundant, but it's always fresh and the omlette guy makes a de-lish butter-soaked omlette they way my grandmother did.

The island: overall our experience in Phi Phi island was average - most people were friendly but some restaurant staff at different restaurants were indifferent bordering on rude, which we believe is the result of excessive exposure to tourism (even though we were there in low season, the place was brimming with visitors).
