    The grounds were beautiful, the staff was super friendly, the buffet breakfast was delicious and the beach was great.

    They make a pretty good margarita at the restaurant over the road but beware the duck curry as it is a bit weird...

    I appreciated the beach, the mascot of the hotel an elephant, the swimming pool and the good breakfast buffet in the morning.

    The quality of food at the hotel was first class, both lunch and dinner and staff at the breakfast room were always so wide awake and friendly!

    We were very impressed with the warmth and hospitality that we experienced here: the pickup at the airport, the welcome at the hotel itself, the charming and smiling welcome every morning for breakfast, the polite and friendly service, the room maids, the extremely helpful fitness club personnel, the treatments at the Mandara Spa, the excellent food in the restaurants, the live music in the evenings - everything was just perfect.

    Based on recommendations from other reviewers, we also tried a couple of the nearby options outside the hotel - the 'Swiss Guy' restaurant (turn right out of the main gate, and it is maybe a hundred metres or so on the left side) was a definite winner, however we were disappointed with the local restaurant right on the beach just next to the hotel (on the right as you look at the beach).

    There is a small shopping center just outside the resort with mediocre food and some stores but not alot to do outside of the resort.
