    Ao Nang itself offers plenty of restaurants offering a wide variety of cuisines, lots of shops/stalls and loads of places to have a massage for 200/300 baht (c£4 - bargain!

    Ao Nang is a great little town, with lots of shops selling all sorts of bargains, with many good places to eat, at very reasonable prices.

    Shopping was much better in bangkok so i would suggest to get your bargains there as there is less choice and the sellers are not willing to haggle on prices in Ao Nang.

    If you are looking to be in the center of the town with decent food and a lot of tourist shops and trips, then I guess it is a good place to start and you could probably do worse pretty easily.
