I think that once the renovations are complete the hotel will be great - my reccommendation to the hotel is get yourself a new managment team and send your team on some customer service training ASAP then take advantage of your wonderful location.

There are alot of new resorts being built but I would definitley stay at Ao Nang Villas again as it is so central to everthing.
