For the cheap price, it was an average hotel, although I didn't try the other hotels in town and had just come from sophisticated Bangkok.

There's also a Chinese restaurant, the prices are absolutely outrageous, even by western standards, give it a miss and try the Thai place by the entrance - it's pretty good.

On the negative side, the staff weren't always helpful; the Internet never worked in the lobby (I think because they want you to use and pay for the Internet Cafe located on the property) and they do not offer a free shuttle service to the local airport.

The pool was acceptable, the weight room disappointing and staff didn't seem friendly or concerned with things like getting the correct time of my wake-up call or fixing the lock on my door that would not open easily.

But you must put it in perspective and realize that 1900 baht a nite for a hotel is a staggering high price in Khon Kaen.
