modern hotel, great service, wicked inhouse chef

stayed here for 3 nights and we are going back in nov 09, this was one of our best hotels in the whole of thailand and we stayed in the Mandarin Oriental in bankok, being picked up at the airport in a white london taxi was brill, the service we recieved was second to none, the hotel is ultra modern and the chef is a wizard, the drinks were totally overpriced which scared off all the guests to surrounding bars which killed the atmosphere somewhat.

The hotel was immaculately clean, had a really fun, young and trendy decor, the location was right in the middle of the night market and so easy to get around, and the staff were beyond accommodating and gracious and spoke English surprisingly well, there was virtually no language barrier.

Our room was again very modern and the glass sided bathroom was a bit of a concern until we noticed the wooden blinds that made it completely private.

The pool was a nice size, clean and plenty of towels although it could have done with a bit more greenery to have made it feel less concrete.
