If you plan to take a taxi, make sure you have a card of the hotel with the hotel address of it, as much drivers speak no English The coffee shop at the front entrance of the hotel has excellent bakery items.

From the Silom Skytrain station its only 3 sations to get to Siam Square, the city's main shopping area and one (maybe the) biggest shopping area in South East Asia.

We prefer to eat in the lively markets and the food choice didn't look that inspiring anyway so can't comment on restaurants.

The Position is fantastic, just stops away on the Sky train that is very clean and safe to some of the best shopping in bangkok...

The location was good for Pat pong markets, I walked there in 10 minutes, after about 5 minutes you start seeing little stalls so it's an interesting walk.

For the Shopaholics in you, a short Sky train or Taxi drive away is the Silom Centre which is basically the start of a load of amazing shopping Malls with shops ranging from up market designer to the inexpensive department stores, we spent hours there and could have easily spent days!!

The location is good about 10 minutes walk from Chong Nonsi Sky Train station which takes you into the central shopping area in less than 10 minutes and to the river in less than 5 minutes.
