    My only gripes were that service at the pool was not very good (slow and unreliable - I often had to go looking for waiting staff, even to sign for my lunch or drink before leaving the pool).

    because of my profession, me & my wife travelled alot, Plaza Athenee Bangkok is definitely one of the best, if no the best 5 star hotel I've ever visited.

    The room was a bit outdated and even if it was big enough there was just lots of empty space.

    The bar was very nice, with a good jazz trio, but it was empty and expensive.

    The location is good if you are doing business at one of the embassies - but, Wireless is a rather boring street.

    The hotel has everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel, and we were happy to be always welcomed warmly when we came back to the hotel, hot and dusty after a day of traipsing around the city.

    It is situated along the road with the embassies, so it is understandable that most places around there are overpriced.
