A XVII century building that by its history -was House of the Colegiata of San Miguel de Ampudia-. With its stately porch entrance, it can be found enclave in the main square. It is considered one of the most emblematic buildings of the village. Originally it constituted the residence of the Abbot of the Colegiata of San Miguel de Ampudia. It was later acquired by Don Diego Garcia de Tovar, notary of Madrid and later of Ampudia and brother of the Chantre of the Colegiata Don Francisco Garcia de Tovar. At the end of the XVIII century it was passed on to his descendents from generation to generation to its present owners the Garcia Puertas brothers, whose father D. Jesus Garcia Simon during many years impeded its deterioration by maintaining it in an acceptable state of conservation. It is a two-story building with its facade and principle entrance on the main Plaza. Various patios and outhouses allow further access through a secondary street. The materials used in its construction, -even though there have been modifications over the years- are typical of the region. Stones in the socles and porch entrance. Large adobe walls, the arches, cornices, trellises and lintels are made of wood and stuck together with inferior plaster. The wrought iron gratings of the balconies are well as the lots of the interior doors of the house are original from the XVII century. The interior maintains its splendor, full of antiquities. The most spectacular being the 6-meter high vault at the entrance, and the small chapel where the Abbot fulfilled his religious offices. The original altar is in perfect condition as are the statues and other religious paraphernalia.
