Food and drink can be expensive or as close to your budget as you like - we ate in the food courts on one or two occasions and loved the atmosphere, food (if you like Asian fare then you will be spoilt for choice and it won’t break the bank - very cheap in these places for food) and people.

The hotel was expensive but much of the expense could be put down to the fact that the £ was so very weak against the S$ when we went (c2.05$:£).

Also, as the alcohol is extremely expensive (everywhere in Singapore but particularly in the hotels) if you fancy a tipple for a nightcap or before you go out there is a supermarket just up the road (out of hotel, turn right, keep walking, it's called 7/11) and the prices there aren't extortionate.
