Patong was a dirty place but shopping was great, be prepared to barter, go a third of what the vendors offer, you'll be amazed how much they come down!

We particularly loved the location, being so close to Patong beach (just a 5 min tuk tuk ride away) but far enough for us to enjoy peaceful days away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy shopping areas.

There is a small convenience store at the bottom of the stairs to buy extra water and other items.

This is the main bar strip is closed to road traffic late in the afternoon becomes a walking street with everything you may want but is not available at a regular shop.

Okay there are lots of stair but hey you are in paradise, the hotel was far enough away from the hussle and bussle of the main road of Patong but still in easy reach of the shops, resturants etc.
