The parador stands on the site of the old castle of Ayamonte which was originally a rock castle, and the village was built on the slopes of the hill on which the castle stood. From the parador location, there is a magnificent view of the river and the surrounding towns and villages along its banks, a view which at sunset becomes even more beautiful and unforgetable.
