The hotel was very nice -- very good staff, lovely surroundings, and in the rooftop restaurant and breakfast room excellent food and service.

True the hotel is a little faded around the edges but the service is impeccable.

Located on Madeira island, 500 meters from the city center and 20 km from International Madeira Airport. There are 337 sea or mountain view rooms and suites each with individual balconies, cable television and mini-bar - although some of the views are a little obstructed by trees. The hotel shares facilities with the Royal Savoy and the 2 are connected by a walkway through the gardens. There's sea-bathing access, synthetic grass tennis courts and a garden sports park is which is situated between both properties. Other shared facilities include five restaurants, three cafs, four bars, five outdoor swimming pools, two health spas, two tennis courts and a business centre. The Savoy Classic is the older of the 2 hotels so some of the rooms need updating a little, but they are comfortable with all the essential amenities you need. The staff are friendly and welcoming.
