However we felt the hotel is complacently relying on its location and the service was not to the level we have had elsewhere in NZ-in particular the advice from the concierge was minimal/unhelpful and the breakfast was poor.

As a result of this and the location right in the centre of the city there was a huge amount of traffic and general street noise all through the night, particulalrly with boy racers thrashing thier cars around the city centre.

Not a good breakfast offered by the hotel but Christchurch has lots of good cafes within a short walk.

First, the room which was an executive suite was small, dark and lacked ventilation.
