we arrived about 6 in the evening, the staff were welcoming however the hotel was deserted and lacked atmosphere...

The staff were a joy - so friendly and warm and they took turns babysitting/entertaining our little girl when we had our al fresco lunch!

The grounds were nice though to be fair and the staff were great but were obviously fully aware of the tricksy behaviour of the owner, Meryanne Loum Martin.

The staff were helpful without being 'in your face'; the bedrooms are impeccable and full of original touches (miles away from the tired Orientalist chic peddled elsewhere in Morocco); the proprietress was gracious and welcoming.

Candles at night every where, five pools, sprawling roof terraces, a clay surface tennis court, excellent massage and yoga, interesting cooking classes by their gracious young Moroccan chef, and the absolute kindness of the owners.
