the room was comfortable but no lock on the door or phone in the room so no way of contacting reception...

And in the evenings it was wonderful to sit in the beautiful rooms of the house, enjoying the open fires, the excellent collection of books, a relaxing tipple, a fantastic home-grown meal, only to finally retire into a comfortable double bed and look forward to enjoying the next day in the same way.

The staff were helpful without being 'in your face'; the bedrooms are impeccable and full of original touches (miles away from the tired Orientalist chic peddled elsewhere in Morocco); the proprietress was gracious and welcoming.

Without question the bedrooms and public rooms are beatifully furnished and much thought has been given to the hotel layout, but now installed in this wonderful looking place our niggles became that of practicality and service.
