I was a little worried before I went that it might be a bit 'shabby chic' but it really is very luxurious and feels plush, even though the welcome is so informal.

It is a very special place with lots of extra touches, like iced water, cold towels and slices of chilled watermelon served during the day on the sun loungers, scented candles in the bathroom at night, frangipani flower petals, scented bookmarks on bed and luxurious toiletries in the bathroom.

If you're looking for super swanky rooms with all mod cons, dozens of pools, tennis courts, kids club then the Cafe del Mar is NOT for you.
