For eating in town avoid the tourist waterfront restaurants adn go for the Warisan shopping mall where the various modern restaurants offer great food at great value.

Apparently a taxi to and from the Rasa Ria costs RM180 however the concierge hooked us up with a private charter driver who had a nice modern vehicle and spoke excellent english.

I found it to be well worthy of its 5* status, the rooms were huge, comfortable, modern and clean (especially the wonderful, spacious, marbled bathroom), the staff were efficient and the food was of a good standard; good choice of restaurants; an excellent variety at breakfast and good cocktail/ snack bar at the pool.
