Our taxi driver took us to the main reception, where we rang the gong signalling our arrival and were greeted with cool flannels and a drink.

We could not fault anything about the Rasa Ria, it was an absolute joy to stay there from the welcome drink and cool towel to sitting watching the sun go down at the bar.

But we used it so many times because it was so hot that running a nice cool bath at night time totally hit the spot.

They also come around in the afternoon to people laying round the pool with cool melon skewers which are wonderful (all free).

From the moment we were welcomed into the hotel (with a cool drink and a bang on the gong), we felt that we were in a top resort and this feeling continued for the duration of our stay.

Coast restaurant is a fine dining option, with very stylish contemporary surroundings right on the beach in a separate building; there is also the option of eating in a gazebo on the beach which we regretted not trying.

On arrival from the airport I was greeted like the long lost prodigal son and while I sat enjoying a cool drink I was checked in by the receptions staff and then taken to my room.
