  1.
It wasn't cheap, but it wasn't outragous and it was good if you are in a hurry.

  2.
The hotel has a gym to which there is very limited and costly access.

  3.
I was travelling on my own and am used to hotels offering tiny/cramped rooms to single occupants.

  4.
The room was incredibly roomy (after the tiny box in Tokyo for the same price).

  5.
Upon check-in, I discovered I had made an unfortunate mistake in the type of room I had booked.

  1.
When we got to our room, they gave us a room with two small beds that smells musty and a view of two radio towers and the roof.

  2.
When my husband told them there are actually two of us, the front desk staff was rude and hostile.

  3.
Avoid the food in the restaurant/bar at the top of the hotel as it is of poor quality and expensive.

  4.
    Poor service overall

  5.
The reception staff are unhelpful and speak poor English, the concierge is equally unhelpful and speak poor English; there is no non-allergic bedding and no desire to help with that either; the restaurants considered part of the hotel do not welcome foreigners and there is no English menu in some of them; when we asked to rent a mobile phone we were given a local telephone number and were told we should call ourselves; the room is rather small for the rate, this was a very disappointing stay at what should have been one of Japan's best hotel chains in its premier tourist destination, Kyoto.
