    The Hotel Okura looks very modern for historic Kyoto, but it makes up for it by being all the best that "modern" entails--clean, efficient and comfortable.

    The decor of our room was beautiful - modern and minimalist in gold and green - and the whole hotel had an understated elegance very much in keeping with the typically polite, attentive and discreet Japanese service.

    Our 2 week trip in Japan let us experience different type of hotels in Japan, This is one of our favorite, hotel just finished remodeling, Room has a Asian modern style , great color scheme though the hotel( the picture don't do justice) and the view from our room was breath taking.
