) It was a convenient location to be picked up from to go on excursions, but is NOT located in downtown and erquires a short (generally $10-20) cab ride to get downtown for dinner, etc.

I recommend The Grand Hotel in Reykjavik, great staff that is always ready to help you with all information about Iceland, and the best breakfast buffet in town, free!
