    After expressing surprise at the length of wait, we ended up being upgraded to the heritage suite, the best room in the place - which was absolutely fantastic, complete with private swimming pool.

    The pool is only 4 foot deep which is fine by us as we can't swim so unusual it was pool that we could actually use.

    I wanted a hotel in Goa that would be of a high quality without being astronomical in price, and that would have a good swimming pool and a sophisticated non-package feel.

    The pool was fine but only four feet deep, so there was no rowdy swimming or splashing and there was a safe separate area for small children.
