There are upscale shops with in 1/2 block, the famous "out door market place" is 2 blocks away and there are ample opportunities to just walk and enjoy the sites.

It is near a big pedestrian mall where there are the more expensive western shops, McDonalds etc, but also near some more traditional Chinese shops and the night food market.
