  1.
The gold floor is situated on floor 9 and you get your own private check-in desk (always friendly and ready to help you at any time), your own private lounge with free access to computer and printer, private kitchenette area where all hot/soft drinks are free (there's an honour bar for alcoholic drinks), canapes served between 5 and 7 each day (very tasty) and breakfast served in the private lounge (very good breakfast).

The Bellagio cafe a few doors away is a great place for a drink, lunch or dinner.

There are a few restaurants just outside the hotel that serve a good breakfast for a lot less.

  2.
The beds were very comfortable, it was easy to adjust the air conditioning, the room was very quiet, high-speed internet access is free if you are a member of the President's Club (free to join), the bathroom lacked storage space but the amenities, nonskid bath mat, robes and hair dryer were very much appreciated, and because we booked through a Virtuoso agent, we were able to get a great rate with breakfast included (normally $26 per person).

The rooms are very clean - we have stayed in 2 room suite and rooms on the fairmont club level that include a great breakfast.

I first stayed in the Hotel Vancouver nearly 30 years ago when it was the tallest building around with a great view from the rooftop restaurant.
