The hotel is modern enough, but due to the above billing problem I didn't bother trying out any of the bars or amenities, including the spa.

It was like staying on top of a beautiful lighthouse overlooking the majestic city skyline which was a perfect combination of both - the historical look as well as the modern city centre.

However, if you are a visitor to Sydney and would love to wake up to a glorious sunrise view over Sydney Harbour, Bridge and Opera House et al in a comfortable, modern five star hotel, then you'd do well to consider the Shangri-La.
