Airlines of Tasmania is a small regional airline based in Launceston, Australia. It operates a fleet of light aircraft on services between Launceston in Tasmania, Flinders Island and Essendon Airport in Melbourne in Victoria on the Australian mainland. In the 1970s, the company had regular services to the West Coast utilising the Queenstown and Strahan Airports. The Par-Avion name was established in 1984 and provides wilderness tours and scenic flights in the smaller aircraft in the fleet. In the 2004-2005 year there was a service between Hobart and Strahan, but this service was closed due to marginal profits. Early in 2008 the airline moved its Melbourne operations from Moorabbin Airport to Essendon Airport, flights to Melbourne are now regularly operated by the Dornier 228.
